Swiss vocational teachers show interest in video-based collaborative learning
On the 27th of January, Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (SFIVET) professor Alberto Cattaneo, together with colleagues Rachele Conti and Francesca Amenduni, carried out the webinar of the ViSuAL project with 33 Swiss VET teachers. The webinar was the final part of an online course on the use of video to support collaboration and reflection.
In the first part, participants were presented with five case studies from the ViSuAL project. Teachers were invited to reflect upon transferability of the case studies in their teaching practices. Prof Cattaneo started from teachers reflections to explain how video and hypervideo could support collaboration and reflection on professional practice.
During the webinar, teachers reported their experiences with the collaborative use of video in classroom. An interesting debate started among participants concerning advantages and disadvantages of introducing video-pedagogies in their programs.
