JAMK University of Applied Sciences is an internationally-oriented higher education institution providing Bachelor and Masters’ programs and in addition a wide range of professional development and continuing education programs and courses in the fields of Technology, Business, Social and Health as well as Teacher Education. The total amount of students is around 8500 and there are around 700 staff members.
JAMK’s School of Professional Teacher Education has extensive competence in research and development activities related to understanding the transformation of vocational and higher education teachers´ work and meeting the skill and competence demands now and in the future. School of Professional Teacher Education has a strong research and development project portfolio in modernizing education with ICT supported learning and teaching, professional development of teachers as well as building models for university-work life collaboration in national and international contexts. As an example of modernizing higher education institutions with ICT capacity, School of Professional Teacher Education offers a service of facilitation for institutional digital transformation called Digital Leap of Education. The program supports institutional capacity building for transforming organizational culture as well as individual capacity building for improving learning results and quality of education via new pedagogical approaches and methods.
